We are excited to announce that our £30million investment to diversify our facilities, has been granted Planning Permission in Principle, as of Dec 13th, 2023.
The plans include an extension to the hotel of 50 more bedrooms, a new state-of-the-art spa and leisure facility, a café, an outdoor pursuits area which would include zip lines to high ropes and clay pigeon shooting, glamping units, lodges and the potential for residential development and timeshares.
Vital to the approval, it also means that it unlocks 400 potential job opportunities with earnings to match or better the ‘Real Living Wage’ which we are already part of.
Our General Manager, Gary Silcock said; “We are delighted with the Council’s decision to approve our Masterplan Application in Principle and would like to thank everyone for their support. Careful thought and consideration has been given on how best to develop a sustainable future for the Estate for decades to come. The significant level of support we’ve received throughout the planning process reinforces there is a strong demand for the investment, local job creation and facilities available in the area.”
More details will follow in due course and, of course, we will keep you informed of the next stage, a detailed application will follow, then we’ll start to show plans and building works as things progress.
We also received planning permission to sensitively relocate our driving range, making it better-connected and closer to the existing hotel infrastructure, thereby providing an improved customer experience. The associated expansion of the facility will create new jobs, primarily through the addition of a Golf Academy and will benefit members, visitors and the local community by delivering an enhanced golf experience.
